Coach Samson Unuanel, the Technical Adviser, Kwara United FC of Ilorin, on Thursday blamed the impatience of home fans for some of the club's poor home results.

Unuanel told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin, against the backdrop of a 1-0 away victory against Lobi Stars of Makurdi, in a mid-week Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match in

Katsina-Ala.

He explained that his players often played under pressure on their home ground, accusing the fans of always wanting them to win all the time, thereby putting the players under pressure.

"Although we understand this is because of their love for the team, but they also need to exercise patience sometimes too. We have told them and I believe that with more sensitisation, the fans will learn to appreciate our position too," Unuanel said.

The former Ocean Boys coach explained that the victory in Makurdi was a way of compensating the fans for the shared points in Ilorin against visiting Dolphins of Port-Harcourt in the week 13game.

He described the triumph as, "least expected and a victory in a lion's den," and called on stakeholders to prevail on the home fans to improve the atmosphere at home for the club.

The coach promised to make the state proud at the end of the league season. Kwara United are currently occupying the 4th position on the NPFL table, with 22 points from 14 matches.
