Kwara Police hail arrest of suspects in CP's murder

Date: 2013-05-24

The Kwara State Police Command has described the arrest of seven suspects in the killing of its former commissioner, Chinwike Asadu, as a good development that would make Nigerians to have more confidence in the police.
The command's Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Fabode Olufemi, stated this yesterday at their headquarters in Ilorin, while reacting to the report on the arrest of some suspects in the dastardly murder of Asadu on March 2 at his Amorji Nike residence in Enugu State.
According to the PPRO, the police have done a good job in apprehending the culprits and the state command is very happy because of what the late commissioner did during his time as the Kwara State Police Commissioner.
"It is good news and we are very happy and I know that average Kwarans will be pleased to hear the arrest of the killers of their former CP". The late CP's stay in Ilorin was successful because he fought to reduce crime to its barest minimum in the state.
"The arrest will also go a long way in giving assurance to Nigerians that the police are working. People will continue to have faith in the Nigeria police", the PPRO said.
Fabode, who informed that the Force Headquarters, Abuja, has taken charge of the matter, said that the suspects have been arraigned, while efforts were being made to track down others still on the run.
He, however, reiterated the readiness of the state command to ensure adequate security of lives and properties of citizens of the state, as he promised to combat crime and rid Kwara of criminals.
