An Ilorin, Kwara State Area Court has dissolved a four-year-old marriage between Azeez Muyideen and Memunat Muyideen over Memunat’s alleged disobedience to her husband’s directives.

Azeez, 37, a resident of Edun area, Ilorin, Kwara State, had prayed the court to dissolve his marriage to Memunat for being rude and disobedient to his directives.

The petitioner told the court that his wife was fond of disobeying his orders by giving flimsy excuses.

“My wife always argues and shouts at me whenever I instruct her to do something that will benefit the family,” he said.

He cited an instance when his wife refused to prepare food to break their fast during the last Ramadan  period.

According to him, their marriage was contracted in 2009 and has produced two male children, Wahab, (4) and Dauda, (2).

“My lord, I want an end to this marriage before my wife turns herself into a monster in my house,” said the complainant.

In her  response, the defendant did not object to the prayer of her husband, saying, she was ready to go as it pleased her husband  she does so.

“My husband is fond of shouting on me like  a  housemaid and this I can’t tolerate,” she said.
She told the court to grant the prayer of her husband without any claim.

The judge, Mr Yusuf Abdul-Kareem, dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the respondent.
