Former ABS gaffer, Festus Allen, is confident the club's all-time scorer, Abdulrahman Bashir, will overcome his goal drought this term.

Bashir, who has scored 57 career goals for the club, has played five matches without scoring a goal this term.

Ichull Lordson, who is in his second year on loan from Kwara Football Academy (KFA), has scored all three goals for the club in the five-week old league.

Allen told supersport.com that it is normal for top stars to go through difficult times in front of goal and backed the forward to bounce back to reckoning.

"Bashir will be back amongst the goalscorers once he overcomes personal challenges. The striker has passed through some tough times which can affect performance.

"He has the strength and character to come back," Allen said to supersport.com

The gaffer expressed satisfaction with Bashir's records in the domestic football.

"He's the only player in the country to have played in every division from amateur division two through the top flight with one club.

"As someone who shares similar records with him, I can attest that his 57 - goal feat in his career at the club is no fluke. Bashir is one of the best players I have coached," Allen stated.

Bashir scored 20 goals for the club in two seasons at the amateur cadre and 37 as a professional in three seasons.
