The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has uncovered some tools used by pipeline vandals in IIorin.

The tools, which include diggers, sledge harmers and pumping equipment, among others, were discovered by the command at Dangote-Asa Dam Road, in IIorin metropolis on Wednesday.

The NSCDC Commandant, Mr Gana Yerima, who led newsmen to the spot where the tools were discovered, said no arrest had been made in connection with the discovery.

Yerima said the investigation was ongoing and solicited for useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects from members of the public.

The commandant said the suspects escaped leaving the tools, when they noticed the presence of men of the command.

He also said that the NSCDC would continue with 24-hour surveillance of the pipelines in the state, and advised residents to alert the command of any suspicious movement in the area.
