APC Uploads Yakubu Danladi's Governorship Nomination Details to INEC Portal
The All Progressives Congress has uploaded the nomination details of its Kwara State governorship candidate, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, on the Independent National Electoral Commission's candidate nomination portal ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to a report by The PUNCH.
Danladi-Salihu, the current Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, is among at least 13 APC governorship candidates whose nomination details have so far been processed and uploaded.
Other candidates whose details have reportedly been uploaded include Obafemi Hamzat of Lagos, Solomon Adeola of Ogun, Umar Bago of Niger, Ahmed Wadada of Nasarawa, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Ahmed Galadima of Adamawa and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau.
A senior APC source disclosed that the party was also processing the documents of five additional governorship candidates and expected to complete the upload of all its 28 governorship candidates and their running mates before INEC's August 8, 2026 deadline.
The source said the party had not yet commenced uploading the details of its state House of Assembly candidates due to technical challenges with the INEC portal. However, the candidates' documents had been scanned and prepared for upload once the issues were resolved.
INEC opened its portal for the submission of governorship and state House of Assembly nominations on July 18. The exercise is scheduled to close at 6:00 p.m. on August 8, 2026.
The electoral commission is expected to publish the personal particulars of governorship and state House of Assembly candidates on August 29. Political parties will have until September 19 to withdraw or substitute candidates in the two categories.
APC Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, said the party's reconciliation committee was working to resolve grievances arising from the emergence of some candidates.
He also urged the candidates to remain loyal to the party's policies and campaign on its "Renewed Hope" agenda.
