A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State, Bolakale Kawu, has said his years of community service, youth empowerment, and human capital development have prepared him for governance ahead of the 2027 election.

Kawu spoke on Thursday after participating in the PDP governorship screening exercise held at the party's national secretariat in Abuja.

The aspirant said leadership must transcend political promises and focus on practical service delivery capable of improving the lives of the people.

According to him, his long-standing involvement in empowerment initiatives, education support, infrastructure interventions, and youth development demonstrates his readiness to govern the state if elected.

"For years, we have created opportunities, empowered youths and women, supported education, facilitated jobs, and invested in communities without occupying public office.

"This journey has always been about service, and by the grace of God, we are ready to do even more for the people of Kwara State," he said.

Kawu described the screening exercise as smooth and transparent, noting that it reflected the commitment of the PDP to internal democracy and credible leadership selection.

"Today's screening is another important step in the collective journey towards rebuilding Kwara State and restoring purposeful leadership to our people.

"I remain committed to the ideals of the PDP and to the vision of a greater Kwara that works for everyone," he stated.

The governorship aspirant also appreciated party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for their continued support and confidence in his vision for the state.

He urged party faithful and residents across the three senatorial districts to remain united ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Kawu called for collective efforts towards building what he described as a more inclusive, prosperous and people-driven Kwara State.

He is considered one of the prominent aspirants in the PDP governorship race ahead of the party's primary election.
