Kwara Reps Aspirant Adejoke Mistura Distributes Empowerment Materials Worth N500 Million
A female House of Representatives aspirant for Isin/Irepodun/Oke Ero/Ekiti Federal Constituency in Kwara State, Adejoke Mistura, has empowered no fewer than 5,000 households with items valued at over N500 million.
Adejoke Mistura explained that her decision to vie for the elective office was deeply rooted in her passion for service, grassroots development, and the urgent need to amplify the voices of her people at the national level.
"Over the years, I have closely engaged with communities across the constituency and have seen first-hand the gaps in infrastructure, youth empowerment, women inclusion, and access to opportunities.
"I am stepping forward not just as a candidate but as a servant-leader committed to effective representation, people-oriented legislation, and sustainable development.
"This ambition is driven by a clear vision to bring governance closer to the people and ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt in every ward and community," she said.
The aspirant, who was described as a grassroots politician by party stalwarts, added that she is stepping forward not just as a candidate, but as a servant-leader committed to effective representation, people-oriented legislation, and sustainable development.
"My involvement in politics spans several years, during which I have actively participated from the ward level to the state level. I have consistently engaged with party structures, community leaders, women groups, youth associations, and other critical stakeholders.
"Through this long-standing engagement, I have built strong relationships based on trust, accessibility, and service. I am confident that I have significant support and goodwill from key stakeholders across the constituency, as my track record speaks to my commitment and sincerity of purpose," she stressed.
She lamented that the major gap in the current representation is the disconnect between leadership and the grassroots, adding that many constituents feel unheard, underserved, and disconnected from the benefits of governance.
"There is also a need for more impactful empowerment programmes, strategic infrastructure development, and stronger advocacy at the national level.
"My plan is to bridge this gap through accessible representation via regular town hall meetings and open communication channels, as well as legislative advocacy by championing bills and motions that directly benefit our people," she emphasised.
When voted into office, she promised to embark on targeted empowerment programmes, including skills acquisition, business support, and job creation initiatives.
She also pledged to partner with relevant federal and private sector organisations on infrastructure development, with a view to improve roads, schools, and healthcare facilities.
Some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programmes eulogised Adejoke Mistura's humanitarian services to women, youths, children, vulnerable groups as well as communities and pledged solidarity for her political ambition as Member of the House of Representatives during the forthcoming general elections in 2027.
Some of the items donated to the beneficiaries include cash grants to small business owners and widows, the provision of sewing machines, grinding machines, hairdressing equipment, vehicles and motorcycles.
Others are support for farmers with fertilizers and seedlings, scholarships and educational materials for students, free JAMB forms, medical outreach programmes and support for vulnerable groups.
