IPMAN sells kerosene at N50 per litre in Ilorin
The Ilorin, Kwara State, zone of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN) yesterday, designated some filling stations in the metropolis to sell kerosene to members of the public at the official rate of N50 per litre.
Alhaji Mustapha Muhydeen, secretary of IPMAN in the zone, who spoke on behalf of the chairman, Chief Agbolade Bolaji, on the development, stated: "We arranged the sale of kerosene at N50 per litre to consumers in Ilorin to ease the suffering they have been experiencing due to the scarcity of the product and to also ensure the routine distribution of kerosene everywhere."
Also speaking on the challenges confronting the association on the supply of kerosene, he said: "Our challenges are obvious. Marketers have different opinions from that of the general masses. We are not supplied the product and that is why we are not selling. Each time we get supply, we sell. This time, we are not being forced to sell. It is because we have the product that we are selling.
"If we are supplied at N50 per litre, the marketers are willing to sell for the same price. It is possible to sell kerosene at N50 per litre in Nigeria. It is not difficult at all. It all depends on the central administration."
