Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh hosted a reception on Thursday, 15 May 2025, at the Council Chamber of the Kwara State University (KWASU) Business School to formally welcome three newly promoted professors into the academic ranks.

The new professors-Professor Sheu Abdulganiyu Salau and his wife Aminat Abdulganiyu, Professor Olayiwola Gafaru Olorisade and his wife Folasade Olorisade, and Professor Moshood Zakariyah accompanied by Dr. Rahmat Folasade Zakariyah-were celebrated at the event.

The Vice-Chancellor, during his congratulatory remarks, highlighted that the professorial title marks the pinnacle of academic achievement and opens doors to new research and administrative opportunities. He urged the new professors to continue their scholarly contributions to KWASU and the broader academic community.

He noted that the skills and knowledge they had acquired as teachers and researchers should not be left dormant but should be used to mentor younger researchers for the benefit of humanity adding that the university will readily support innovative research proposals. He further urged the professors to form interdisciplinary collaborative research teams in the advancement of the mission of the university.

Professor Shehu Salau, who spoke on behalf of the honorees, expressed their appreciation to the management in organising the reception. He thanked the Vice-Chancellor and other Principal Officers of the university for their commitment to the welfare of staff of the university, noting that the regular promotion enjoyed by staff of the institution was an encouragement for staff to give more to the system.
