Ibrahim Taiwo Road Closure Begins April 23 for Roadworks, Alternate Routes Announced

Date: 2025-04-23

The Kwara State Government has announced the full closure of Ibrahim Taiwo Road (Taiwo Isale) from Wednesday, 23 April 2025, to facilitate asphalt laying as part of ongoing road rehabilitation works.

Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, Honourable Commissioner for Works, stated that all vehicular traffic will be diverted to Wahab Folawiyo (Unity Road) and Obbo Road during the temporary closure. Motorists and commuters are advised to anticipate delays and drive carefully, adhering to instructions from traffic officers on duty.

"We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank the public for their continued understanding," Engr. Olododo said. "This project is a vital step in enhancing the road's economic impact and boosting connectivity, in line with the urban renewal vision of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Our team is committed to delivering the project swiftly and responsibly."

The government assures residents and road users that all necessary steps are being taken to reduce disruption, with safety and efficiency as top priorities.

Motorists are advised to comply with traffic directives and plan their routes accordingly during this period.
