Date: 2024-07-04

According to a news report from Voice of Nigeria, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Kwara State has declared its readiness to mobilise residents to participate actively in the forthcoming local government elections, scheduled for September.

The agency's state director, Mr Olusegun Adeyemi, disclosed this on Wednesday during a working visit to the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC).

The NOA director stated that the purpose of the visit was to discuss the forthcoming local government elections and the importance of sustained grassroots sensitisation.

He further emphasised the importance of public awareness and education in ensuring a successful election.

In his response, KWASIEC chairman, Mallam Okanla Baba, appreciated NOA's willingness to support the electoral process.

He urged the agency to intensify its grassroots sensitisation efforts to ensure all eligible voters were informed and mobilised to participate in the election.

He pledged the eagerness of the state electoral body to conduct a free and fair election, one that would carry all stakeholders along.

According to Baba, the visit signifies the right step towards ensuring a successful and peaceful local government election in the state.
