NPA distributes relief materials to Niger, Kogi, Kwara flood camps

Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has in the past weeks provided relief materials for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in several states across the country. General Manager, Public Affairs of the NPA, Chief Michael Ajayi, who was accompanied by the Principal Manager, Audit, Mr. Saint David Eze and Mr. Solomon Adegoye, Senior Procurement Officer, took relief materials to Kwara, Niger and Kogi states. In Kwara state, the chairman, flood relief committee, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed who received the team, thanked the management of NPA on behalf of the state government. Also present to witness the ceremony were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Emergency and Relief Services, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi and Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Alhaji Ahmed Makama. In Niger state, the team was received by the deputy governor, Honourable Ahmed Musa Ibeto, the chairman, Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Senator Zaynab Kure, and other top officials; while in Kogi state, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olugbemiro Jegede alongside other top government officials, received the relief materials for the state. Prof. Olugbemiro Jegede, who could not hide his joy over the humanitarian gesture of the NPA, revealed that he was particularly impressed about the decision of the NPA management to extend relief materials to the entire 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing the initiative as highly commendable.
