Kwara Community Gets Water After 100 Years

Date: 2023-11-13

The people of Kuro village in Moro LGA of Kwara State have been provided with a solar-powered borehole to solve the over 100 years of searching for water.

The community said they used to share a stream about two miles away with cattle and other animals.

Speaking during the launch of the borehole, the project's sponsor and founder of LG-Rhythms, Dr Titus Ale, said, “The provision of water to the people of Kuro is God's doing, because as an NGO, we never believe in attacking the madness in this world with another madness.”

The Village Head of Kuro, Zakariyahu Magaji, said, “This water project is the first of its kind since the over 100 years of the existence of Kuro.”

The Imam of the community, Olaoti Kuro, said, “The water project will serve the five neighbouring communities of Olori, Aiyetoro, Onisapa, Owode, Kondo-Oke and Kondo-Isale, inhabited by Yoruba, Fulani, Tiv, Idoma and Igbo.”
