Kwara State Police Commissioner Vows To Boost Security
 
    
The new Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Northcentral Nigeria, Victor Olaiya has vowed to boost security by dealing ruthlessly with all manner of crime in the state.
He made this known when he formally resumed office in Ilorin, the state capital.
While addressing the command's strategic managers, the New Police boss declared his total abhorrence to laziness, negligence, and armchair leadership style.
He said he is an adherent of the rule of law using the community policing strategy in line with global best practices.
Olaiya who hails from Lagos State, Nigeria had his secondary education at CMS Grammar School, Bariga, in Lagos, where he obtained his O-Level Certificate.
He is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Lagos with Bachelor of Art (B.A.) and Master of Art (M.A.) degrees in philosophy.
CP Victor Olaiya did his youth service in Ilesha, Osun State and was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a member of Course 3 of the Nigeria Police Academy and passed out as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police {Asp}.
His first posting was in Imo State, where he cut his teeth as a professional Police Officer, from where he was posted to Staff College, Jos Plateau State, as a directing staff. He was also posted to the Inspector-General of Police Secretariat (IGP-SEC), where he proved his mettle as an astute administrator before being moved to the Oyo State Police Command, where he meritoriously served as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in several police stations, among which were Agugu, Agodi, Sango Divisions, and others.
He also served as the officer-in-charge (OC) of the Anti-Robbery and Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the command.
From Oyo State, CP Victor Olaiya was again posted to Zone 12, Zonal Command, Bauchi as the 2ic Operations before his eventual redeployment to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Abuja as a team leader in the General Investigation Section, until his promotion to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police and moved to Benue State Command as the Area Commander Gboko.
CP Victor Olaiya, while serving as Assistant Commissioner of Police (Admin) in Nassarawa State, was promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Investment at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, before being further deployed to Yobe State as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin).
He was promoted to the enviable rank of Commissioner of Police in March 2023 and deployed as the CP in charge of INEC headquarters in Abuja, from where he was posted as the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Police Command.
