Kwara Poly debunks report of students' protest as fake

Date: 2022-11-02

The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has dismissed a viral report which insinuated that students of the institution staged a protest over an epileptic power supply in the Sango-Elekoyangan area of Ilorin on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

The report was debunked by the institution's Public Relations Officer Halimat Garba via a statement released on Tuesday.

According to her, it was the residents of the neighbouring community that protested over power failure in their neighbourhoods and not the students of the institution.

The PRO further disclosed that students of the institution are currently on break, adding that the Polytechnic is just preparing for a new academic session.

describing the report as malicious, she advised all stakeholders of the institution and members of the public to always verify information about the polytechnic before circulating such reports.
