We'll Continue Where Saraki Stopped - Bukola Saraki
The scion of Saraki dynasty, Senator Bukola Saraki, has assured the people of Kwara State that the family of the late politician, Chief Olusola Saraki, will continue from where he left off in the spheres of philanthropy and people-oriented politics.
Speaking during the fidau prayer for his father in Ilorin on Sunday, the former Kwara State governor pledged that Kwara people would not suffer after the death of his father.
Senator Saraki, who said his late father regarded the poor masses of the state as Very Important Personality (VIP), added that they would continue to be regarded as members of Saraki family.
While commending the people's steadfastness and support for the political ideals and what his father stood for, he further called for their continued support and loyalty, towards taking Kwara State to greater heights.
The fidau prayer, which witnessed an unprecedented crowd of people, also saw the Metropolitan Square, the venue of the event, filled to capacity.
Also speaking, a renown Islamic scholar, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruk Onikijipa, debunked the rumour making the rounds in the state that the late Saraki was buried with a casket.
Sheikh Onikijipa, who said he partook in the last burial rites for the politician, including the bathing of the corpse, noted that the deceased, a renown Muslim, was buried without the MIC casket that took his corpse from Lagos to Ilorin.
Onikijipa, along with three other clerics, Sheikh Sulyman Danborono, Sheikh Habeebullah El-Ilory and Sheikh Muideen Hussein, also called on the immediate family of the late politician to close ranks to ensure the continuity of the legacies of the late political icon.
