Executives of the party at the ward level were elected during the exercise, DAILY POST reports.

Speaking with DAILY POST on phone, the state chairman of the party, Engr. Kola Shittu, described the exercise as peaceful and heartwarming.

He said disagreements were resolved before the exercise, hence the rancour free and resounding success recorded throughout the state.

Engr. Shittu, said all issues that could mar the success and peaceful conduct of the ward congresses exercise, were resolved amicably within the party before the Saturday event.

Also, the spokesman of the party in the state, Tunde Ashaolu, in a statement in Ilorin, on Saturday, commended party members for the successful conduct of the exercise.

He said "As a party that respects due process and committed to internal democracy,"we welcome the choices made by delegates during the ward congresses.

"It is part of the several efforts we are taking as a party to strengthen our support base at the grassroots and also build a formidable party that is ready to take over power from the clueless All Progressives Congress administration," he added.

The party expressed appreciation to the leaders, elders and relevant stakeholders within the party, especially, the national leader, Dr Bukola Saraki, for their contributions towards the successful conduct of the ward congresses.
