Customs generates N4.7bn in Kwara

The Kwara state command of the Nigeria Customs service (NCS) says it has made 47 seizures comprising of various contraband items with a total duty value of 448.4Million naira between August last year and January this year.

The state customs Area Controller ,Hussaini Ahmed made the disclosure while addressing newsmen at the command Headquarters in Ilorin.

According to him the command has also generated a total sum of 4.7billion naira as revenue during the period .

He explained that the items seized included 16 units of vehicles of various types,953 bags of foreign rice,4,357 bags of mosquito coils,184 Jerry Cans of petrol as well as 48 Sacks of 3,593 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa.

Ahmed noted that the command was able to record the achievements through rigorous surveillance and intelligent gathering.

He assured the determination of the command towards enforcing government policies to ensure socio-economic stability in the country.
