The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) Unilorin branch has reiterated its commitment to improving the welfare of members. The newly elected Chairman of the association, Comrade Akanbi Mohammed Jimoh gave the assurance in his acceptance speech during the swearing in ceremony of newly elected officers last Thursday.

Akanbi, who emerged in a keenly contested election with three other candidates, urged all parties involved in the election to shun partisan politics. He promised to operate an open door policy.

In his speech, the National Vice President/Chairman, Western Zone of SSANU, Comrade Alfred Jimoh, praised the good conduct of the electorate before, during and after the election appealed to the winners to be magnanimous in victory, saying the only party that contested was SSANU.

High point of the event was the presentation of Certificates of Return to the officers by the Chairman, Electoral Committee, Joseph Olafare and Com. Jimoh. The newly elected officers are Comrade Oyedepo Oluwamayowa Joseph as Vice Chairman, Hussain Abdullateef Dasola as Secretary, Comrade Saheed Tunde Mohammed; Asst Secretary, Comrade Olaniyan Abdulganiyu; Treasurer and Comrade Oyedepo Sunday Olaitan as Financial Secretary.

Others are Comrade Alabi Oluuwasegun Timothy; Public Relations Officer, Comrade Akande Isaac Okunola; Trustee, Comrade Adesola Olutona; Ex-Officio and Comrade Adi Hajarat Azumi; Women Leader.
