The President of the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Doctor Ahmed Adeoye Raji, has lauded the initiative of the State Government in collaboration with the African Nations Development Programme for the provision of five thousand mass housing units for the less privileged in the state.

Doctor Raji in a statement issued on behalf of the Chamber said the collaboration on the provision of mass housing would go along way to bring succour to the housing needs of the downtrodden.

The President of the Chamber,however, urged government to allow and ensure that the needy or poor are the receiving end of the project, and praised the government's determination towards ensuring that the project is directed to the poor.

Doctor Raji also asked government to ensure that fairness and equity is maintained in the allocation and distribution of the mass housing scheme and that the project is supervised effectively and high standard materials are used so as to get value for the money spent on the project.

Similarly, the KWACCIMA president urged the government to engage the services of indigenous contractors and artisans so as to further boost their economic status.

He,therefore, commended the partnership between the state government and the African Nations Development programme, and stressed the need to ensure that sure projects and others alike spread across the three Senatorial districts of the state so as to alleviate the sufferings of the poor in the society and address their housing needs.
