Kwara spends N30m on Lassa fever

The Kwara state government yesterday said it has spent over N30million in the last one year to prevent outbreak of Lassa fever in the state. The state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Atolgbe Alege disclosed this in llorin during an interview with our correspondent.

Alege who expressed happiness that Kwara has not recorded any case of Lassa fever, attributed it to huge amount that the state government expended on prevention programme. He said the well-equipped isolation centre put in place at the Sobi specialist Hospital in llorin, is still in place for the treatment of the disease

Alege said the sensitisation progrmme and training and retraining of all categories of health workers in the state against the outbreak of the disease is still in progress in all the 16 Local Government areas of the state.
