Kwara to assist victims of communal clash
The Kwara State Government is to render assistance to victims of Share-Tsaragi communal clash.
This would reduce tensions between the two neighboring communities.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Ilorin, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Doctor Muideen Akorede said the state government was taking actions to prevent a re-occurrence of hostilities in the area.
Doctor Akorede said the council considered the Draft White Paper and Administrative Panel of Enquiry with the reports on Share/Tsaragi communal clashes last year.
The Governor's aide explained that the council considered and consolidated previous reports on clashes between Share and Tsaragi communities with respect to damages and losses suffered by victims. He noted that the government would later consider other part of the harmonized white paper report at a later date.
