ECWA challenges Buhari on state of the nation
The Chairman of ECWA District Church Council (IDCC) Ilorin, Rev. Sunday Stephen Ajise has challenged the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver on his campaign promises for Nigerians. Ajise made the call while speaking at the 8th Annual Convention of the ECWA IDCC held at the Ilorin ECWA Church, Taiwo Isale Ilorin on Sunday.
He said:"The purpose of this convention is to assemble and to charge church members to prepare for the task ahead of us in the year 2016. It is our sincere prayer that after this convention, people will go back to their various churches, whereby they can disseminate the information gathered in this conference for us to achieve our goal in the year 2016.
"We are challenging the government of the nation because when you look at what is happening at this very crucial moment in Nigeria, it takes the grace of God for a common man to cope with what we are passing through. We will discuss the new rate of petroleum, unemployment of the youth as well as non-payment of salary arrears being experienced by workers in the country."
"The theme of IDCC ECWA Church convention is timely because we need people that will stand in the gap for this nation, to pray and maintain the truth for the nation to do what God is expecting from individuals for our prayers to be answered."
In his brief remarks, the Chairman, IDCC 2016 Convention Planning Committee, Chief Richard Olaniyi said the work of God needs peoples' challenges, therefore urged people to give out to God in order to receive more blessing from God. Similarly, the Secretary of IDCC ECWA Church, Mrs Bisi Akangbe charged the parents to instill the word of God into their children, especially the female ones in order to guide them to the right direction.
