Against the widely spread rumour that Kwara State Government has accessed a bond as earlier proposed, the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah has dismissed the rumour. He further explained that the government had just gotten approval from the Federal Government to access the bond.

He also assured that the state residents should expect aggressive developments as soon the government secured the bond, ruling out diversion of the bond, stressing that the bond would be utilised for outlined projects to enhance socio-economic growth of the state.

He explained that already, 174 wards across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state had submitted their proposal for community development projects, urging the state residents to be calm as the dividends of democracy would soon spread to their door-steps.

On the coming local government election in the state this year, the governor called on the APC members to brace up for the exercise to ensure the success of the party in the poll. He also warned cultists and other criminals to vacate the state or face the full wrath of the law.

He told the gathering that an executive bill before the state House of Assembly proposed between 10 and 14 year jail term for anyone found guilty of cult-related offences. He explained that any building and property harbouring such convicted cultists would also be confiscated by the state government.

Governor Ahmed advised parents and guardians to take proper care of their wards as the state government would ensure that those found guilty of disrupting peace and harmony with which the state was known for would face the full wrath of the law.

Speaking on the ongoing workers' verification exercise, the governor stated that the exercise would ensure prompt payment of workers' salaries and pave way for the engagement of unemployed youths in the state.

On his part, the State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Ishola Balogun-Fulani called on Kwarans to pray in unison against the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki which he said was a political persecution.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Alhaji Usman Bibire-Ajape said the monthly meeting was to interface and keep members of the APC abreast of political development in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
