Easter: Kwara Speaker Canvasses Support for Buhari, Congratulates Christians

Date: 2016-03-28

Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad has enjoined Nigerians to be strong in the face of several challenges facing the country and called for support for President Muhammadu Buhari as he steers the ship of state.

Ahmad made the call in his Easter message issued by his Media Aide, Shuaib Abdulkadir in Ilorin at the weekend. The speaker urged Nigerians to utilize their differences in religions, ethnicity and languages to make the country great.

While congratulating Christians on the Easter celebration, he? admonished them to imbibe Jesus Christ's qualities, be their brother's keepers, preach peace at all times and as well show love to people around them, especially adherents of other religions.

The speaker further admonished them to use the festive period by praying fervently for God's intervention in Nigeria with a view to end series of crisis being experienced in the nooks and crannies of the country.

According to him, in the "course of celebrating the death and resurrection of Christ, we must resolve to do only what is right and celebrate modestly. We must also appreciate His death on the cross by remaining true to his words, teachings and practices in order to live a better life and make the society a better one.

"The celebration also provides opportunity for us as Nigerians to come together, do away with our differences and make use of several things that binds us together. It is through that we can remain strong as one indivisible country."

Ahmad also called for support and prayers for the Buhari led administration in order to succeed in changing the country's fortunes for better. It's been God and it's been good.
