Unilorin Decries Outburst over Ultimatum on Payment of Tuition Fee
The management of the University of Ilorin in Kwara state on Tuesday described as "unnecessary hair-splitting" the outburst of a "faceless group" called "Concerned Citizens" over the issue of deadline for the payment of tuition fees in the university.
In a press statement issued by the university and signed by its Head of Corporate Affairs Unit, Mr. Kunle Akogun, in Ilorin said , "The University decries the attempt of the group to whip up unnecessary sentiment over a well-known policy of the University of Ilorin."
He said the university's commitment to rules and regulations was one of the secrets behind its well-acclaimed academic excellence, stable calendar and zero-vice status for which it has become the toast of admission seekers and parents for the past 15 years.
In a newspaper report last Monday (not THISDAY), the group had criticised the university's deadline for the payment of tuition fees by its law-abiding students, which, it said, is "outdated, obsolete, insensitive and cruel".
