At Senate, Mark's portrait still reads 'Senate President 2007 to date' The portrait of the immediate past Senate President David Mark at the entrance of the new wing of the Senate at the National Assembly is still reading " Senate President 2007 to date" , meaning he is still the Senate President. ?

Mark's tenure as the Senate President terminated when Senator Bukola Saraki of the Kwara Central emerged as the Senate President in last June when the eighth Senate was inaugurated.

DailyTrust correspondent reports that Mark who has been at the Upper Chamber since 1999 was the 12th Senate President and he reigned for eight years (2007 to 2015).

It was conspicuously written on his portrait at the new wing that he is still the Senate President.

Daily, Senators including the Senate President Bukola Saraki pass through the area where Mark's picture adorned. The offices of the Senators are located at the new wing.

It would be recalled that Mark staged a come to the National Assembly last Thursday after winning the rerun election of his Benue South Senatorial District that was conducted three weeks ago.
