Govt Charged to Explore Potentials in Agriculture
The federal government has been charged to diversify the nation's economy, by investing in other critical and more productive sectors such agriculture and mining.
A financial expert, Alhaji Babatunde Salami, who made the call in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, said that the current challenges facing the nation's country was as a result of dependence on oil to the detriment of other sectors.
He said that the agriculture sector would augment the country's dwindling oil revenue and pave way for more employment for the youths.
Stressing the need to revisit the existing Land Use Act to promote agriculture, the expert advised government to support farmers through identification of international market for their produce.
Salami, who is also the Group Head, North-central Two of First Bank PLC, said that Nigeria was blessed with competent and intelligent individuals that could move the country forward if given the support.
