Kwara Group Berates Igbomina Youths Over Comment On Lai Mohammed

Date: 2015-10-16

Kwara South Senatorial Advancement Agenda (KSSAA) has condemned a statement credited to the Igbomina youths referring to the National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed, as being of Lagos extraction, rather than a citizen of Kwara State.

The group said, at a press conference, in Ilorin, that those behind what it called "satanic rumour", should be examined in a competent hospital for psychiatric cases.

The development came on the heels of the recent nomination of Mohammed by President Muhammadu Buhari, occupying Kwara State's slot for the post of a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to the General Secretary of the KSSAA, Opeyemi Olabanji, Mohammed, remained a bonafide citizen of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State; the status he alleged had made the APC stalwart qualified to contest without any hitch for the governorship of the state some 12 years ago.

The Igbomina body had few days ago in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital described Mohammed as a native of Lagos State, citing his biological son who, at present, is serving as a House of Assembly member, in Lagos.
