I will continue to defend the struggle that will give all Kwarans equal opportunities - Yinka Aluko

Date: 2015-04-14

Elections have come and gone but the memories will linger on. I want to congratulate the victorious ones, no matter how the victory came, and I wish them all fruitful tenure, amin.

As a person, I go to any contest with strong determination to be victorious and not to go to appeal or waste time and energy at tribunal, no matter the level of evidences. In an election, a winner must emerge and someone must lose, but Ilorin have thought us to always accept every situation as the will of Allah. So I accept the verdict as pronounced by INEC

I thank most sincerely my brothers, family members and friends for their understanding and support throughout the political sojourn, I wish I could mention names but our political maturity is still very low, I will not want them to be hunted in their comfort zones, Allah will reward you all abundantly and in folds.

To all our supporters and well wishers, I thank you all sincerely for your understanding and for identifying with our struggle to make tomorrow a better place for our children and unborn generation. The struggle to create a plain level ground for all in Kwarans, irrespective of ethnic, religious, gender, background etc, is not negotiable. It does not matter who creates it, but I have strong belief and hopes that Kwara of our dreams will be attained. I owe no grudge against anyone. I forgive mistakes and over reaction of supporters of our opponents and in the same vain, seek for forgiveness from those who may have been hurt by me or my supporters. To err is human, to forgive is divine.

The lessons from the elections are numerous but the most important one is for the winners to make use of the floors against their style and improve upon it for the benefit of our people in Kwara. Please let our people be respected and recognised. We have capable hands in Kwara. Trust them and give them opportunities instead of bringing people from outside.

We have more miscreants on the street of Kwara. Let us join hands together to give them hopes by gainfully engaging them through employment and empowerment. They are a time bomb. They should be attended to before they explode our society.

I thank you and emphasise that I have no regrets for been on the side of the down trodden and I will continue to defend the struggle that will give all Kwarans equal opportunities.

Thank you all and God bless. Alhaji Yinka Aluko was the Deputy Governorship Candidate on the PDP platform
