Card readers will guarantee credible poll - Atunwa

Date: 2015-03-06

THE Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Razak Atunwa, has said that the use of card readers will guarantee credible poll in the country.

Atunwa, who is also the Director-General of APC Mandate 2015 Campaign Organisation, made this observation in Ilorin while addressing party supporters from the Kwara North Senatorial District.

The speaker explained that the nation should move with the rest of the world in the conduct of credible election by making use of card readers.

The speaker, who is also the APC House of Representatives’ flag bearer for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, expressed disappointment over the stand of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the use of card reader in the poll, pointing out that the stand was anti democracy.

He praised the people of Kwara North for leading in the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and urged them not to allow any desperate politicians to buy it from them.

The speaker noted with delight that 95 per cent of PVCs from the senatorial district had been collected by eligible voters and urged them to mobilise and monitor the counting and collation of results during the elections.
