Date: 2014-11-13

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brigadier-General Johnson Olawumi yesterday expressed concern over the condition of the Kwara orientation camp at Yikpata in Edu LGA of the state.

Olawumi, who was on a tour of the camp was reportedly enraged when he inspected the facilities, especially the corps members' hostels and met Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to complain. Sources at the camp told Daily Trust correspondent that he threatened to shut down the camp within 48 hours.

A corps member said, "The DG was very disappointed about the deplorable condition of the camp. He said even prisoners deserve better. He promised to meet the governor to find a way of giving it a facelift."
