The suspect was arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on a-two count charge of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, contrary to sections 97 of the penal code law, 6B and 1(2) of robbery and firearms (Special Provision) Act cap R11 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The Police First Information Report (FIR) said the commissioner had reported at the SARS office, that some suspected four armed robbers operating on motorcycle with gun, invaded his shop located at Offa Garage, Ilorin, and dispossessed him of five handsets valued at N60, 000 and cash sum of N200, 000.

Consequently, the police report divulged that another two-man gang suspected to be armed robbers came to Opakunle’s shop “again with the same Honda motorcycle that was used to rob him on July 29, 2014”.

The FIR added that the commissioner raised the alarm when another suspected robber invaded the shop, a development, which attracted the neighbours, who came to the rescue and arrested one Ayegbeso Samuel with a gun that was discovered to be toy, while the second suspect escaped.
