Kwara United left back, Kehinde Ayeni, has expressed confidence on the team's chances of promotion to the Nigeria Premier League at the end of the season.

The Kogi State-born defender, who joined the Ilorin side mid-season from Sokoto United FC believes the away draw to FRSC FC on Saturday has placed the team in vantage position to earn the promotion.

"We have the team to withstand any side and at any time. We know it's a difficult task ahead of us but I'm confident we will sail through," Ayeni said.

Kwara United has lately garnered four points away from home and is placed second on the Nigeria National League behind Wikki Tourists of Bauchi with 37 points, although Ayeni insists it's not a done job already.

"We are wary of other teams contesting for the promotion tickets but we will continue to do our best to achieve our target," the 23-year-old graduate of Business Administration said.
