In a bid to further demonstrate its commitments towards educational development in schools in Ilorin and its environs, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has inaugurated Education Committee and Management Board for Ilorin Comprehensive High School (ICOHS).The committee is to improve the educational standards of the school.

The National President of the union, Alhaji Abdulhamid Adi while inaugurating the two committees at the secretariat of the association in Ilorin, noted that the formal inauguration of the committee was to serve as a forum for all members of the union to interact with one another and to prepare them for task ahead.

Adi revealed that the move was in line with the union’s commitment to improve educational development of the people, considering education as the strongest tool for any positive change in the society.

The president on behalf of the union expressed gratitude and appreciation to all members for accepting the responsibility to serve the people in the capacity

He explained that the choice of the committees to serve as Education Committee and Management Board of Ilorin Comprehensive High School was based on the track record of achievements of the members.

Our correspondent reports that Professor Shehu Jimoh will chair the management committee, while Dr Toyin Akanbi was inaugurated as the chairman for the education committee.
