3SC Beats ABS

Date: 2013-02-01

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) club, 3SC have once again proved their superiority on ABS, beating the Saraki Boys 2-1 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Thursday.

Both premier League clubs used the duel as part of their preparations for the coming 2012/13 NPL season which is expected to start on February 16.

The Oluyole Warriors were 1-0 winners in the first fixture at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Tuesday.

In the second game, 3SC broke the deadlock in the 21st minute through Tony Edjomariegwe, but parity was restored in the 34th minute by ABS' defender, Enemi Umori as the first half ended one apiece.

On resumption, 3SC were pegged back with a flurry of attacks but the back four of the Ibadan-based club were superb as their resilience denied ABS on several occasions.

Veteran defender, Mutiu Adegoke then combined well with Azeez Shobowale and set up striker, Gabriel Adikwu who netted the winning goal for 3SC in the 57th minute.

ABS will now move to Lokoja for a 10-day closed door camping where they are expected to conclude their final preparation for the new season.
