Senator Saliu Mustapha Donates N1 Million to Ilorin Fitness Festival
Punch reports that Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, has donated N1 million to support the fourth edition of the Ilorin Fitness Festival, a prominent fitness event scheduled for Saturday, November 16.
The festival, which will take place from 7 a.m. to noon at the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium, is expected to draw a wide range of fitness enthusiasts.
The event's convener, Akorede Monsuru, CEO of Exercise is Medicine and an IOC/NOC-certified fitness trainer, expressed his gratitude to Senator Mustapha for his ongoing support and dedication to community development.
According to Monsuru, the senator previously participated in the festival and actively joined over 500 participants at last year's edition.
“He has once again demonstrated his commitment to the health and well-being of our community through this remarkable donation. His support comes as a major boost to this year's festival, an annual gathering that promotes a healthier lifestyle through exercise, inspiring participants to embrace active living,” Monsuru said.
The fitness session of the event will feature a walk, aerobics, yoga, stretching, and other fitness challenges.
There will also be 100m, 200m, relay race, sack race, tug of war, and a novelty football match.
The organisers have also charged residents of Ilorin to register for the event for free and also plan to attend.
