Kwara monarch urges FG to hasten completion of Ilorin-Egbe-Kabba road

A monarch, Oba Anafi Okunoye has urged the Federal Government to hasten the completion of Ilorin-Egbe-Kabba road linking Kwara with Kogi state.

Oba Okunoye, who is the Oniganmo of Ganmo, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state said construction work on the Ganmo end of the popular road seemed to have been stalled, arguing that contractors are no longer visible on site.

The monarch made the remarks in Ganmo on the sideline of a community outreach by the youth fellowship of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ilorin District Headquarters to the ancient town.

He also urged the state government to focus on some rural roads, adding that most of the infrastructural projects in the community were done through self efforts.

He sued for peaceful coexistence among different religions in Nigeria.

The royal father said the ancient town had remained peaceful because of religious harmony.

"Your coming here today is divine we have been living with Christians for over 200 years. You see that Church over there, it has been there for over a hundred years and there has been no misunderstanding because we are one.

"Regardless of the religious inclination we are first human begins and we must be united for development to occur in the society," he added.

In a remark, President of the Youth Fellowship, Adebayo Awodola, an evangelist said the event is a way of giving back to the society.
