The newly appointed Personal Assistant to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed on Political Matters in Kwara Central, Alhaji Hassan Gegele said his focus will be to improve the welfare of people, especially the politicians, youths and women.

He gave the assurance in Ilorin yesterday while speaking at a special prayer he organized to mark the appointment.

Gegele had occupied same position between 2008 and 2011 under the administration of former Governor Bukola Saraki.

He said part of the jobs he would handle was to remind the governor of some of the promises made during the electioneering campaign and ensure the fulfillment of those promises.

"My concern and part of the task ahead of me is ensuring that our people are rewarded and compensated, particularly those who have worked tirelessly during the last general elections to ensure the success of the APC".

He said youths and women empowerment would also be part of the focus of his new assignment.

He added that he would also advise the governor accordingly on the welfare of the civil servants.

The PA political said the prayer was not to celebrate the appointment but to thank God for making it possible.

Gegele said the prayer was also to seek Allah's guidance and protection in the task ahead. He however said his previous experience would be brought to bear to excel in the task ahead.

He appreciated Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Senator Bukola Saraki, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari and all APC stakeholders who recommended him for the appointment.
