Date: 2015-10-01

Oba Sikiru Atanda Sanni Woleola II, Olupo of Ajasse-Ipo and chairman, Irepodun Traditional Council, has lauded the efforts of members of Ajasse Ipo Descendants Union (AIDU) for contributing to the progress and development of the town.

He made the remark during his recent visit to the United States of America, USA, where he held discussion sessions with members of AIDU and Kwara State Association North America (KSANG), District of Columbia chapter.

The monarch particularly praised his subjects for projects they sponsored at home which included renovation of Ajasse Ipo Health Center and 2014 medical mission.

The monarch spoke on the on-going construction of international vocational center by the state government in the town, assuring that it would soon be officially opened. He expressed satisfaction over the co-operation among the monarchs in Igbomina land.

On the menace of Bororos, Olupo said effort was being made to curb disturbance and violence emanating from them, saying the community had engaged local security personnel to complement efforts of the law enforcement agencies with logistics to check the cattle plundering of farm crops.

Alhaja Adenike Sanni Woleola, the monarch's wife, thanked AIDU members for starting development projects after the monarch's visit to the USA in 2013, urging them to do more for their father's land.

She also urged Ajase-Ipo sons and daughters to ensure maintenance of social infrastructure within the community.

Stakeholders at the discussion session resolved that henceforth performance of elected officials should be intermittently reviewed to build understanding, development, cooperation and collaboration in Igbomina land.
