Kwara NURTW members regain freedom
Eleven members of the Kwara State branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) recently arraigned in court in connection with the clash between members of the union and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in Offa have regained freedom.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin yesterday, the state secretary of the NURTW, Alhaji Rasheed Yemi Aliyu, said their acquittal was made possible by the intervention of eminent persons in the state.
Aliyu who said none of the union leaders of various branches of the NURTW was still in prison custody over the clash, added that the union had always encouraged peaceful co-existence.
