Ajibola Felicitates with Kwara people on Xtmas; calls for peaceful co-existence
PDP Governorship flag bearer in Kwara, Sen. Simon Ajibola, has called on the people of the state to live in peace with one another and seek God’s face during the yuletide.
Ajibola made the call on Wednesday in his Christmas message to the people of state.
``As the whole Christian world celebrates the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, I rejoice with Christians in particular and the entire people of our dear state.
``I enjoin all good people of Kwara to be tolerant, live in peace with one another as we prepare for yet another general elections in the country”, Ajibola said.
He called on the people to seek divine intervention for peace to reign in Nigeria, especially during the coming elections.
Ajibola admonished the people to imbibe the spirit of humility as exemplified by the humble birth of Jesus Christ in the manger.
He appealed to the people of the state to vote for PDP at all levels during the coming elections to enthrone freedom and rapid socio economic development in state.
``Together, we must join hands and develop Kwara and enthrone democratic ideas and values.
``Every Kwaran and Nigerians must be security conscious throughout the Yuletide and beyond,” the Senator said.
Similarly, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, in her own message to the people, said Christmas is a wonderful reminder that God’s generosity is not limited by prevailing social conditions.
``In fact, it was into those conditions that God gave the human race one of the world greatest gifts of all times.
``The spirit of this festival therefore calls on us all, irrespective of tribe and religion and proclaims a new kind of society.
``A society characterised by mutual care and concern and indeed, a new kind of humanity”, she said.
The PDP chieftain called on the people of the state to pray for those still in the captivity of Boko Haram terrorist group.
``As the Christmas Day is a day of joy, I invite you to join me in praying for those, who for no fault of theirs will be missing out in this festival of sharing.
``I remember particularly, several innocent Nigerians still searching for safety and freedom, our sisters and brothers in the North-Eastern part of the country experiencing the terrors of war”, she said.
Gbemisola also called for prayers for those who were burdened and sick, families beset by tragedy, internally displaced persons who had nowhere to lay their heads. (NAN)
