Eulogies as former governor buries wife

Dignitaries from all walks of life yesterday paid a glowing tribute to the remains of the late wife of the former governor of Kwara State, Chief(Mrs) Elizabeth Funmillayo Adebayo who was committed to mother earth at Oke-Onigbin in the Isin Local Government Area of the state.

The colourful but solemn funeral service held at the All Saint Church, in the ancient town attracted creme-dela-creme of the society which included, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, All Progressives congress(APC), national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Interim Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande.

Senator Bukola Saraki was among the early arrivals at the funeral service which saw representative of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, former Military governor, Old Oyo state, Major Gen David Jemibewon, former Military governor Bauchi and Osun states, Col Theophilus Bamigboye, former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Chief Joel Afolabi Ogundeji, APC publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, Governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), in Kwara State, Senator Sulaiman Ajadi and John Dara, representatives of Ooni Ife and Orangun of Ila, Justice Ayo Salami, Justice Fola Gbadeyan among others in attendance.

In his sermon, Venerable Oni Osun charged those in position of authority to embark on projects with direct bearing on the lives of the citizenry. He also advised leaders to lead with the fear of God and tasked politicians to shun campaign of calumny as another transition period is fast approaching.

He reminded the congregation of the reality of death, saying that it was an inevitable end of all mortals, stressing the need for all and sundry to remain committed to the worship of the lord.

Venerable Osun who extolled the virtues of the deceased who he described as a committed and dedicated Christian who spent her entire life in the propagation of Christianity.
