We will retrieve our stolen mandate - Yinka Aluko

Date: 2015-01-20

Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, the people of Kwara State have been urged to remain calm, resolute and committed to the freedom struggle championed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, towards the growth and development of the state. The Kwara PDP Deputy Governorship candidate, Mallam Yinka Ahmed Aluko, stated this on Sunday while addressing party faithful at Alapata area, Baboko ward in the Ilorin West local government area of Kwara State.

He expressed confidence that the 'stolen mandate' of the PDP will soon be retrieved.

Aluko who described the emergence of Sen S.S. Ajibola as the governorship candidate of the party as the will of God noted that the future is very bright for everyone to become leaders under democratic and transparent process.

Aluko also assured the mammoth crowd that "Our government shall be accountable to the people and not to any godfather. By the special grace of God, the struggle will bring about good fortune, growth and development to our respective lives and state as a whole.

"Let me emphasise that due process and equal opportunities will be made available to everyone."

On Security, Aluko guaranteed the safety of all members provided they operate within the ambit of the law urging them not to take laws into their hands for any reason.

He commended the entire leadership and members of the party in the ward for taking the courage to stand by the party despite the non-availability of incentives even as he assured them of the party's victory in the elections coming up next month.

?Earlier, the Chairman of the party in the ward, Alhaji Nasir Abubakar along with the ward executives as well as the PDP Chairman in the Ilorin South local Government area, Alhaji Nasiru Alkali, led thousands of party supporters in solidarity songs in honour of Mallam Yinka Aluko. They pledged their unflinching support for the party in its bid to win the forthcoming elections in the state even as they identified security threat, lack of fund among other logistics as the major factors confronting and militating against their efforts.
