Kwara United 3-0 Kano Pillars

Date: 2013-05-28

The Afonja Warriors got the result of the week with a whitewash of the reigning league champions at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Sunday.

Goals from Stanley Dimgba and Dare Ojo in the 17th and 33rd minutes raced Kwara United to a two goal lead in the first half before man of moment Yahaya Adamu increased the Kano side's away misery in the 67th minute.

Pillars have not found a solution to sudden leaking defence and have been miles apart in form to the same side that won the league last season with so much promise. They have an important duel against Heartland of Owerri on Thursday in Lokoja. It will mark their turnaround in the league if they can beat the Naze Millionaires in the rescheduled league game.

Kwara United are second on the log with 25 points same as Pillars and Heartland but the latter hold top spot based on superior goals difference while Pillars dropped to third.
