Kwara Assembly Vows to Strengthen Democracy Through Executive-Legislative Partnership
The Kwara State House of Assembly has pledged to continue collaborating with the state's executive arm to strengthen democratic institutions and governance structures.
The commitment was made by Speaker Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu during a Democracy Day statement, underscoring the legislature's role in promoting inclusivity, unity, equality, and a brighter future for Nigeria.
Engr. Danladi-Salihu, also Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Conference of Speakers in Nigeria, highlighted the sacrifices of past democratic heroes whose resilience and determination laid the foundation for Nigeria's democratic governance.
He commended current leaders for maintaining an uninterrupted democracy (likely a contextual correction from "interrupted"), noting that the nation has made appreciable progress in development under democratic principles.
The speaker reiterated the assembly's dedication to working alongside the executive to institutionalise democratic values and ensure equitable growth for all citizens.
