FRSC Kwara Deploys 1,000 Personnel, Vehicles for Eid el-Fitr Safety
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kwara State has deployed 650 personnel (including officers and marshals) and 350 special marshals to ensure safety during the Eid el-Fitr celebrations across the state.
In a statement issued by Basambo Olayinka Busari, the FRSC’s Public Education Officer for Kwara State Sector Command, the deployment includes 120 first responders, 16 patrol vehicles, 2 power bikes, 4 ambulances, 4 private tow trucks, and a 70-ton tow truck to manage emergencies and traffic incidents.
These resources will be used to monitor all roads throughout the Eid el-Fitr celebrations.
The statement also said that the Kwara State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Mufutau Irekeola has deployed personnel for traffic control at strategic locations within Ilorin township and major cities in the state during the Eid-El-Fitri special patrol, scheduled from 27th March to 2nd April, 2025.
Irekeola admonished motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations through out the Eid-El-Fitri celebration.
He also enjoined drivers to avoid dangerous driving and wrongful overtaking, excessive speeding, overloading, obstruction, use of phone while driving, operation of mechanical deficient and rickety vehicles/route violation, driving with worn-out tyres, among others.
“In order to ensure free flow of traffic and safe motoring before, during and after the celebration, the Command is currently engaged in the Public Enlightenment campaign/Mega Rally in all interstate motor parks, early morning cry, market, church and mosque advocacies respectively to sensitize the motoring public in Kwara state.
“The Command is also carrying out Special Patrol Operation/traffic control to ease free flow of traffic along the major roads.
“According to the sector commander there is available 70 NN-truck, Ambulances for rescue and clearing obstruction from the highway. Similarly Marshals have been stationed along a major highway within the State.
“While wishing the good people of the state of Harmony happy Eid-El-Fitri celebration, he advised motorists to drive with caution as, “ONLY THE LIVING CELEBRATES.”
