Why I Joined Kwara Guber Race, Says Ex-Magistrate

Date: 2018-10-10

Yahaya Kale Saadu, a former magistrate in Kwara State, has explained reasons he is seeking to administer the state as the next governor.

Saadu said he wants to be governor so that he can restore glory of the state, which he claimed, has been lost.

He said the glory of the state has been lost through misgovernance and poor management of resources as industries and other establishments that provided jobs for many residents were no longer there.

The former magistrate turned politician stated this when he emerged the governorship candidate of the Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA) party.

He emerged the candidate in Ilorin at the weekend at the primary election of the party through affirmation by members of the party as he was without an opponent in the contest.

The governorship candidate lamented that such establishments as the Jebba Paper Mill, Bacita Sugar Company, Kwara Textile, Kwara Funiture, Gate Way Insurance, among others, were no longer functional, adding that this makes the state to suffer loss of glory.

He, however, assured that he would work towards reviving the establishments and floating more to bring back the lost glory.

The politician promised to reform education and legal profession sectors, build infrastructures and create enabling environment for the unemployed youths to be employed.
