The newly promoted Kwara United FC of Ilorin will welcome Niger Tornadoes in week one fixtures of the 2018 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). The match will take place at the Ilorin Township stadium on 14 January, 2018.

The fixture was decided at the NPFL 2018 season draws currently ongoing at Bristol Hotel in Kano.

In other matchday one fixtures that have been decided, Akwa United will face Rangers International, Katsina United will trade tackle with Kano Pillars, while Rivers United welcome Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.

Speaking at the draws, Chairman of the League Management Company, Shehu Dikko said the company had learnt a lot from the 2017 season and intends to make necessary adjustments in the new season.

"We need to remain committed and work on the same level and standard. We need to push a little bit better to become the best in Africa," he added.
